Bath City marched confidently into the final of the Somerset Premier Cup with a victory over Yeovil Town Reserves at Huish Park. City boss John Relish was pleased with his side's victory, which sets up a date with either Paulton Rovers or Taunton Town. "I thought we played well," said Relish. "This may have been their reserves, but they are full-time players who are very fit and we matched them well in the first half and closed the game down n in the second. I was particularly pleased with our two youngsters on loan, Aaron Ledgister and Sam Foley. I thought they both had good games."

City were fortunate to go ahead in the first minute. A simple cross into the box looked to have been well covered by Glovers keeper Darren Behcet. However, between him and the Yeovil defence, they somehow both missed the ball and Behcet could only watch as it trickled over his line. Just nine minutes later, Yeovil could have been 2-0 down. Justyn McKay played the ball wide to Aaron Ledgister whose cross was met by Phil Walsh and deflected behind for a corner. The Glovers, stunned by the early goal and the visitors' pressure, then began to exert themselves. Zoltan Stieber went close with a dipping shot narrowly over the crossbar. Just a minute later, City had a lucky escape as Paul Evans came off his line, failed to get to the ball and with the goal undefended Marvin Williams narrowly failed to turn his shot into the net. However, City, buoyed up by the early goal, were exuding confidence. With Phil Walsh pressuring the home keeper and Dave Gilroy full of running, a second goal for City was equally on the cards. Eleven minutes before the interval Bath got their reward. A corner on the left side taken by Ledgister was whipped across the box at pace for an unmarked Walsh to head home.

The second half was a much tamer affair as City sat back on their lead and Yeovil seemed unable to penetrate their defence. The home side had a couple of chances when first substitute Ren Turnock headed wide then Omar Simpson had a shot about a yard high. Those two chances apart, the City defence were easily able to contain the Glovers and in the end ran out comfortable winners.
