Rogers may miss the start of the season following a knock which an X-ray revealed to have resulted in a small calf tear with possibly some minor ankle ligament damage. However, there were positive aspects for City as two of their best young talents, Kane Ingram and Stuart Pearson, impressed. Ingram got on the score sheet, along with Jon Holloway (penalty) and Justin Pritchard, with Andy Parrell replying for Bitton. City assistant boss Adie Britton said: "It was a good work out, but as far as the football was concerned it was a little disappointing. "We suffered with the nucleus of the side being rotated after Tuesday's game." City reverted from the 3-5-2 system used against Cardiff in their last match back to 4-4-2. "We played the 4-4-2 this evening, but we will be back to 3-5-2 next Tuesday against Hallen," added Britton. "I believe it will be very useful to have more than one system under our belt. "I think we are well suited to the 3-5-2 with the current personnel and we played well using it towards the end of last season." Britton was pleased with the performances of Ingram and Pearson, but their short-term futures at the club are not yet certain. "They both played well and they're improving all the time," he said. "Ingram in particular has a great touch, but we're looking at maybe loaning them out so they can build their strength up in order to be ready for first team duties." Bitton boss Andy Black was pleased with the effort shown by his team. "It was a good game," he said. "Bath looked a good side who kept most of the possession and Lewis Hogg and Jon Holloway particularly impressed us. "We worked hard and it was a good work out all round. "This season we hope to get top six in our league."
